The MERU is a 1.50 m branched energy absorbing lanyard with two steel automatic hook type carabiners at one end and one steel carabiner at the other end.

The MERU energy absorber has a usage indicator that must be checked before each use. If the indicator reads "No OK" when performing a check, it means that the energy absorption is no longer working and must be replaced with a new one.
